Brackenhurst offers a range of FE (college-level) courses in the land-based industries. These include courses in: Agriculture, Animal Care, Animal Management, Equine Management, Countryside Management (Wildlife Conservation), Applied Science and Access to HE courses (for 19+) in Science and Animal Science.
Our intent is to "inspire learners to be ambitious and to succeed in their chosen industry" whether through progressing into the workplace, or progressing onto a HE (degree-level) course at Brackenhurst or elsewhere.
Brackenhurst is home to ARES, NTU's school of Animal, Rural and Environmental Sciences. This offers HE (degree level) courses in subjects such as Geography, Environmental Science, Veterinary Nursing and Agriculture.
Brackenhurst is a rural campus and students study in industry standard facilities including our Animal Unit, home to 250 animals, our Equestrian Centre, with indoor and outdoor arenas, our onsite labs, and our onsite working farm complete with roundhouse. Of course there is also the Estate itself, set in 200 hectares of Nottinghamshire countryside. Accommodation for both HE and FE students is onsite as well as dedicated support staff and academics from industry, creating a like-minded community of people.
